privacy
mig is an app for practicing russian that runs entirely on your device. it collects no personal information, no usage analytics, no diagnostic data, and makes no network connections of any kind.
all vocabulary, grammar sets, progress, and preferences (display mode, words-per-minute, romanization toggle, etc.) are stored locally in your device's app storage. this data never leaves your device and is not accessible to the developer.
the app contains no advertising, no third-party sdks, no telemetry, and no tracking of any kind. when you delete mig from your device, all associated data is removed.
what mig does not do
- does not require an account or sign-in
- does not request access to contacts, photos, or camera
- does not communicate with any server
- does not share any data with third parties
- does not use cookies (it isn't a website)
microphone and speech
one mode, повторяй (repeat after me), listens so it can score how you say a russian word. the first time you use it, ios asks for microphone and speech recognition permission.
recognition happens on your device: mig requires apple's on-device speech recognition and the mode is simply unavailable on devices that cannot do it locally. your voice is never recorded, never stored, and never sent anywhere, by mig or through mig. the microphone is only open while the mode shows it is listening.
if you decline the permission, every other mode works exactly as before.
children
mig is rated 4+ and contains no content unsuitable for children. it collects no data from any user regardless of age.
